Michael Ray McLendon, 49, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at his home in Pasadena, Texas. Michael was a native Houstonian, a 1977 graduate of Milby High School and the founder of Texas Events, Inc. A passionate outdoorsman, Michael loved spending time with wildlife and prior to his illness could often be found on hunting leases all over the great state of Texas or fishing on his beloved boat in Galveston Bay. Michael is survived by his wife, Barbara and daughters Meagan and Katie McLendon. He also leaves his paternal grandfather, Harry McLendon, parents Beverly and Raymond McLendon, parents-in-law, Jack and Joan Moore, brother Patrick McLendon and wife, Dawn, brothers-in-law, Scott Moore and Marvin Wallace and wife Debbie. Uncle Mike and all his toys ~ fishing poles, remote controlled cars, and electronic gadgets of every description will be most missed by his nephews and niece; Cole Moore, Brady Wallace, Matthew and Sean McLendon and Meredith Wallace. A large extended family, his crew at Texas Events and a circle of great friends also survive him.

A memorial service honoring Michael's life will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fairmont Funeral Home, 6777 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, Texas with the Reverend Darwood Galloway officiating. Private interment will be held later in Center Point, Texas. Barbara and the girls would like to express their sincere gratitude to the dedicated doctors, nurses and staff of MD Anderson Melanoma Department for their devotion to the care of cancer patients.
